The Rainbow Centre has been sent some very special helpers this year ahead of Christmas in the shape of ‘Merry Maker’s’. Part of their campaign for volunteers, this December which sets to help The Rainbow Centre gain 100,000 minutes’ worth of volunteer help across 2024, they have launched ‘Merry Minutes’. From volunteering in one of their 4 charity shops, helping at one of their incredible events across the year or even getting fingers dirty and painting a fence or planting in their herb garden, it all adds to their campaign which looks to enhance the charities profile within the local community and beyond.
The kind Elves at IPM Facilities based in Bordon have agreed to extend The Rainbow Centre as their Charity of the Year for another year. For the festivities they have generously donated Christmas gifts for all our adult participants who attend the centre that will be given out at the Centres festive Christmas party held in mid-December. This is exceptionally thoughtful, and The Rainbow Centre are truly grateful to be able to include Christmas gifts for our Adults this year.
“At IPM, our team is thrilled to have played a part in spreading Christmas cheer by collecting donations for the Rainbow Centre. Being able to contribute to the happiness of the holiday season is a wonderful reminder of the power of community and the positive impact we can make when we come together. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the Rainbow Centre and we’re looking forward to continuing our partnership in 2024 to support the excellent work they do.”Sophie, HR Manager at IPM Facilities
The amazing team at Zurich have been long term supporters and annually hand deliver 3 ginormous gift hampers to The Rainbow Centre especially for their Grand Draw comprising of bronze, silver, and gold where tickets were purchased via the centre’s website, charity shops and at the centre itself.
Over £3,000 has been raised through the sale of Grand Draw tickets which shows just how incredible the hampers themselves are. The gift hampers include everything needed to enjoy the festive build up and beyond as well as gift vouchers for fresh produce and the gold hamper even has a bed and breakfast overnight stay for 2 at The Village Hotel, Portsmouth. Every gift inside has been thoughtfully put together which really adds to the joy of the hampers.
What’s more, the team at Zurich joined the team for the Childrens Christmas Party helping to set up and decorate the room, watch the children’s play, and enjoy the festivities.
‘’It was wonderful to be able to support the Rainbow Centre, the charity helps so many families. We were all really happy that we could provide support on the day and also donate Christmas hampers to raise money for the centre. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and wish everyone at the Rainbow Centre the best for the future.’’Helen, from Zurich
The little helpers at SMR, Portchester, generously donated personally tailored Christmas gifts for all The Rainbow Centre’s child participants. Each gift has been specifically thought out with the specific child in mind. These were given to the children at their Christmas party which was so very special.
“In November 2023, as part of our corporate social responsibility aims, we wanted to donate children’s toys to a local organisation, and we identified The Rainbow Centre as the special organisation that we donated to. Given the individual needs of each of the children supported at The Rainbow Centre, the toys that we brought were tailored to the individual child based on their needs; we hope that these toys make a difference to both the centre and the children and look forward to working together in the future”.Lauren, HR advisor from SMR
Here’s hoping 2024 brings even more fantastic community engagement and sprinkles of magic just as The Rainbow Centre does every year through Conductive Education. Every donation received creates more incredible opportunities for children and adults alike with neurological conditions allowing them to have a sense of purpose, family and wrap around support.
“We’ve been so fortunate this Christmas to have received the incredible support from our ‘Merry Makers’, who’s kind donations have fuelled the Christmas magic and spirit at The Rainbow Centre for all our adults and children who attend. This remarkable generosity brings deep joy to our ‘Rainbow Family’ cementing the bonds of community, friendship, and a sense of togetherness during the festive season. We cannot thank them enough.”Charlotte Chandler, Head of Fundraising and Communications at The Rainbow Centre,
