Job Title: Head of Fund Development 

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role Overview 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Fund Development to lead and grow the charity’s fundraising initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful fundraising strategy across a wide range of income streams. This includes trust funding, events, corporate partnerships, and major donors. You will play a key role in helping the charity reach its financial targets, ensuring the continued delivery of vital support to our service users. 

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will lead a growing team, made up of both paid staff and volunteers, to drive our fundraising efforts and expand our reach. Key Responsibilities 

  •  Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet or exceed financial targets.
  •  Lead and manage the fundraising and marketing teams, ensuring the smooth operation of all fundraising activities.
  •  Build and maintain relationships with trusts, foundations, major donors, and corporate sponsors.
  •  Create compelling funding applications and proposals for core and project work.
  •  Oversee income generation from events, individual giving, legacies, and regular donations.
  •  Ensure the effective management of gift aid, in coordination with the finance team.
  •  Build a volunteer network to support events and fundraising activities.
  •  Ensure all fundraising content on the charity’s website is current and effective.
  •  Monitor and report on income, expenditure, and fundraising performance against targets.

Qualifications and Experience 

  •  Senior leadership experience, with a proven record of successful fundraising.
  •  Expertise in fundraising strategy, financial oversight, and business development.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills, able to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
  •  Experience within the social care or charity sector is preferred.
